This is one of the most common hawks seen in the San Diego area. They nest in Sycamore Trees and snags. Whenever there is wind for them to ride, they are out and about for us to enjoy. The adult broad red band on the tail is the way you know that you're seeing this year-round resident of the neighborhood.
